Republicans damage Orange hall
Three republicans who attacked two Orange Halls causing nearly £50,000 pounds of damage walked off with a slap on the wrist from the courts after being ordered to do 100 hours of community work.
Omagh Crown Court, sitting in Belfast, heard that on October 5th 2002; 21 year old Kevin Michael O'Neill; Shane John Conlon, 19, and 22 year old Patrick McGrath broke into the Lisginney and Edentilone Orange Halls near Aughnacloy.
The court was told damage estimated at more than £46,000 was caused.
All three pleaded guilty to burgling and destroying property in the Lisginney Orange Hall, while Conlon and McGrath also admitted to burgling Edentilone Orange Hall and arson.
The pair also pleaded guilty to assaulting another man on the same evening.
Judge Foote also ordered that each pay £1,000 in compensation towards damage caused.
