The earliest recorded mention of warrant number 322 is found in the 1798 Minute Rook of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, but no other information is given.
In 1829 the lodge was listed as working in Ballyronan, County Londonderry with William Banks as Worshipful Master. By 1856 a duplicate warrant had been issued to a lodge in Moneymore District. This lodge operated until 1890 when the warrant was returned to Grand Lodge.
No 322 was first formed in Portadown District in 1895 under the name of Lord Arthur Hill’s LOL , with John Black as WM, W Hara, DM; Thomas Herron, secretary; and William Ramsey, treasurer. In 1899 J Connolly was elected DM. In March, 1900, the WM was given a social evening on his departure to reside in Belfast and in May of the same year William Ramsey was elected Master. At the August election of 1900 the only change was the election of W Hara as treasurer. In 1903, W J Templeton became Master, but William Ramsey again became Master in 1904.
On 30 May 1895 a further duplicate warrant was issued to Bro. John Rlack of Portadown on the formation of Lord Arthur Hill's LOL 322 sitting in Carleton Street Orange Hall (Arthur Hill was the late Unionist MP for West Down.). This lodge functioned until 1905 when the members decided to merge with Dr Kane's Crimson Star LOL 417.
At a meeting of the lodge in March, 1905, W J Locke, District Master, presiding, it was decided that No 322 amalgamate with No 417 under their warrant. The last meeting of the lodge was held on April 3rd, 1905, and the warrant was handed in, in May.
The warrant was dormant until 13th May, 1907, when it commenced its existence under the above title with David M Bright as WM; James Thompson, DM; William A Clarke, secretary; Andrew Robinson as treasurer and Rev W H Townley-Tilson, MA, as chaplain.
The inaugural meeting of Edenderry Temperance and Benefit LOL 322 was held on 13 May 1907 at Carleton Street Orange Hall with Bro. David Bright being installed as the lodge's first Worshipful Master a position he held until 1913. The lodge's first banner was unfurled in 1909 and featured King William III on the front and the Biblical 'Good Samaritan' scene on the reverse. This scene has been depicted on all the lodge's banners ever since. The cost of the banner was £13.
During the Great War many brethren served in the forces including W. J, Adair, Thomas Stewart, Thomas Hyde, James Chambers, Sandy Orr, David Boyd, James Johnston. William McClatchy, David Medlow, Robert Callison and James Gilliland. Bros. Chambers and Johnston were serving with the 36th (Ulster) Division and were wounded at the Battle of the Somme.
The foundation stone for Edenderry Orange Hall was laid by Mrs W. H. McCammon on 20 April 1920 and on 19 September 1925 the hall was officially opened. Prior to this date the brethren had met in Edenderry Parochial Hall. In 1936 a. new banner featuring a portrait of Lord Carson was unfurled by Sister Mrs Magowan, the wife of Bro. R. J. Magowan, the long time Worshipful Master of LOL 322. The cost was £25.
David M Bright continued as Master until 1912, while in 1908, James Thompson was succeeded as DM by John Patton, who also held office until 1912. William Dawson was secretary from 1908, until 1911, in which year William Flanagan held the office. Charles Magill was treasurer from 1908 until 1911, while William Flanagan, who succeeded Samuel Roney as Chaplain in 1909 and was succeeded by James Lyske in 1911, was again chaplain in 1912. John Clarke was treasurer in the latter year.

In 1913 John Clarke became Master, and held the office until 1922. James H Stoops was DM from 1913 until 1918, being succeeded in 1919 by Samuel I Best. Isaish Shanks was secretary 1912-16; S I Best 1916-1918, James W Magowan 1919-20, Stewart C Twyble 1921, and R J Magown 1922. The latter, who was formerly Master of No 9 joined 322 in 1919. Samuel Best was chaplain from 1913 until 1915, and C A Craig from 1916 until 1920. George Ramsey and James Magowan occupied the position in the two following years.
In October, 1922, John Clarke resigned the position of WM and was succeeded by S I Best, D Guy became DM; James Magowan, secretary; and John Atkinson chaplain.
In 1924 R J Magowan was elected Master and held the position until 1929, when he was succeeded by Joseph H Pierson, who occupied the chair until 1933. R J Magowan again became Master in 1934 and is the present holder of the position. James Shanks has been DM since 1924. Thomas S Reynolds was secretary from 1926 until 1932, when he was succeeded by Herbert Lewis. Robert H Dobbin has been secretary since the latter’s death in 1934.
Joseph Benson was treasurer from 1913 until 1932, the treasurers during the past three years being W Keenan (1933-4) and Samuel Wright (1935).
The principle officers for 1936 were - Robert J Magowan, Carrickblacker Avenue, Portadown; Joseph Benson, Woodhouse street, Portadown; Robert H Dobbin, West Street, Portadown; Samuel Wright, Elm View, West street, Portadown.
The Second World War saw many Edenderry men again volunteering for service namely Joseph Gibson, Walter Curry, Gardiner Atkinson, Charles Johnstone, William Hewitt, Frank Radbone, Henry Kane and Frank Magowan, the son of R. J. Magowan. Bro. Kane was lost at sea on 21 June 1940 when his ship was torpedoed by a German U boat.
In 1947 Bro. H. J. Magowan was elected as the first Mayor of the Borough of Portadown and two years later he received the QBE in the King's Birthday Honour's List. A new banner, the lodge's third, was unfurled in 1955, once again the ceremony was performed by Sister Mrs Magowan with Dr George Dougan presiding. March 1968 saw the end of an era with the death of R. J. Magowan, Worshipful Master of LOL 322 since 1934 and the District Master of Portadown since 1955. The lodge was renamed the R. J. Magowan Memorial Temperance LOL 322 in memory of the late Worshipful Master and a new banner bearing this name was unfurled on 12 July 1971.
The Ballyronan lodge operated until 1981 when it became dormant.
In 1982 Bro. John Brownlee became the second member of LOL 322 to serve as WDM of Portadown District. A member of LOL 822 for fifty years, Bro. Brownlee died in 1995.
The Reverend Tom Taylor dedicated a set of new officers' collarettes on 7 June 1995.
