Causnagh Orange Hall re-opens
two years after arsonists attack
Causnagh Orange Hall near Loughgall has been reopened
after it was re-built from the ashes of an arson attack
in March 2003.
The members of Causnagh LOL 98 were joined by fellow
Orangemen from the District of Loughgall, No 3, and by
family and friends for the occasion.
All Brethren, including juniors from JLOL 139 took part
in a. procession from the village, headed by Salter’s
Grange Accordion Band, to the hall, about a mile from
Loughgall.
They were welcomed by the lodge's Worshipful Master Bro.
William Anderson.
Bro. Luke Burney, the youngest member of JLOL130, which
will use the new hail, presented the keys to Bro. Robert
Robinson, the oldest member of LOL 98, and he officially
opened the hall.
Bro. Rev William Murphy dedicated the hall, and Bro Thomas
Forties brought greetings to the lodge on behalf of Loughgall
District No3.
The Sovereign Grand Master, Sir Knight and Bro. William
J. Lagan MBE, brought greetings on behalf of the Royal
Black Institution, and in particular to RBP 352 who will
be using the hall.
Bro. Dennis Robinson, the Deputy Master of LOL 98, paid
tribute to everyone who had worked on site, in particular
the main contractor.
He also thanked everyone who had supported LOL 98 in
their various fund raising efforts, as well as those who
had presented gifts for the refurbishment of the new hall.
He also paid tribute to Bro. William Anderson for all
his efforts insuring the successful completion of the
project, and - on behalf of the lodge -presented him with
a digital camera.
After the singing of the National Anthem, tea was provided
and everyone had the opportunity of seeing round the new
building. The procession then returned to Loughgall village.
