The isolated hall of Couty Down's biggest Orange lodge was broken into in the early hours of yesterday morning.

After forcing the rear door of the Ballyrea Orange Hall, situated close to Silent Valley reservoir, intruders smashed pictures of Ballyrea Flute Band.

They also removed a fire extinquisher and caused damage to the hall's external gates.

House-to-house inquires have been carried out and its is understood that a group of youths were seen in the area at around 4.30am. The intruders forced their way into the hall by hitting the door with boulders.
