Republican Slogans daubed on Orange Hall
Mid-Ulster DUP politician the Rev. William McCrea has condemned a recent statement from SDLP Assembly member Patrick McGlone on the duabing of slogans on Ballyronan Orange hall.
Bro. McCrea, MR said: "It is unbelievable that Patsy McGlone has tried to gloss over the fact that the republicans painted republcan slogans over the Orange hall at Ballyronan.
"The destruction of Orange Hall property is to be roundly condemned, and anyone who violates other people's property ought to be unreservedly condemned.
"I can assure Mr. McGlone that whilst I may not know the foreign word painted on Ballyronan Orange Hall I know they were not phrases in honour of King William of the Orange brethren.
"I have made it abundantly clear that any graffiti painted on any person's property is totally wrong and I will not excuse it being done by anyone," he said.
Bro. McCrea also said that the SDLP chairman of Cookstown Council ought to be giving a clear and unmistakeable lead to the community, "instead of launching an attack on me for condemning this activity." Orange Standard December 2005
