Orange Hall attack is condemned
An arson attack on an Orange hall in County Armagh has
been condemned.
A door at the building in Crosskeys, near Keady, was forced
open and a fire lit inside. The inside of the hall was
damaged by fire and smoke.
Ulster Unionist assembly member Danny Kennedy said lodge
officials were still assessing the extent of the damage.
SDLP Councillor Thomas O'Hanlon and Sinn Fein's MLA Cathal
Boylan said there was no justification for the attack.
Mr O'Hanlon said the arsonists had piled flags and banners
up against a gas cooker. He said the kitchen had been
destroyed and major smoke damage caused to the main hall.
"Our whole society has taken a massive leap forward
towards a shared future, but now the bigots come crawling
out of their holes to try to pull us back towards conflict
